Trying to understand how to fully use this extension but think i am missing something here. I downloaded the zip file and unzipped the content. Two folders where within this, com_redj_1.3.2 & plg_redj_1.3.2. I installed com_redj_1.3.2 is this correct first of all? Also trying to establish whether I need to make other edits anywhere else to get it working?

Now in order to make single URL redirects do I simply add the whole URL i.e. I wish to do a 301 redirect:

From: www.mysite.com/DENTISTRY/Porcelain/
To: www.mysite.com/ivf/ivf-content/porcelain-venners_en

you also need to install and activate the plugin (that do the redirection work).

About item configuration, the source url must not contains protocol and domain (ReDJ uses REQUEST_URI). Try this:

Ok I have installed the other folder also. So I take it I make the changes under:

Components > ReDJ > Items

Is this correct? Sorry I am totally new to Joomla!

Yes,
the "folder" component is used to manage redirection items, and the "folder" plugin is used to make redirection.

One last question I have is I wish to redirect a series of URLs like:

www.mysite.com/Default.aspx?Lng=1&MID=108 where the only difference is the numbers at the end. I wish to redirect them to the homepage. What is the best way of doing this?

from url should be as follow (beware that question mark is "escaped"):

From URL: /Default.aspx\?Lng=1&MID=[:digit:]]{1,3}

Another way is:

From URL: /Default.aspx\?Lng=1&MID=[0-9]{1,3}

I'm supposing you have from 1 to 3 digits as value for MID parameter.
