I have two domain names pointing to the same joomla website.

I want my main domain name (lets call it www.main.com) to work as normal but if a user enters the other domain (call it www.other.com) I want it to redirect to a joomla section www.main.com/other

How can I do this?

so you want this redirect:

www.other.com => www.main.com/other

I need to know when you now call the first URL, who send the response' In other words, I need to know how you have configured the domains (e.g. virtualhost directive).

Yes, that is the redirection I require.

Both domains resolve to the same IP and in my cpanel they are both added as parked domains.

So if this is the case, you can't use just ReDJ to get the redirection.

This is because ReDJ works on server REQUEST_URI variable, which doesn't include the domain part...

The best solution you can get is to configure two virtual domain on apache server, both of kind "name based", configuring the alias (if you want to stay on other.com) OR the redirect (if you want to work on main.com) on the second one.
