Just downloaded this component and i can't get it to work...

I've created an article in joomla and published it.

The from URL should be: /sheila *** not sure if this right, since the page is created in joomla***
The to URL should be: index.php?option=com_content&sectionid=-1&task=edit&cid[]=59

Can you tell me where i'm going wrong?

Hi, create an item as follow:



Then, activate plugin. When you then call www.yoursite.com/sheila, you should be redirected to www.yoursite.com/index.php?option=com_content&sectionid=-1&task=edit&cid[]=59 (that must exists).

This did not work.

I have: From URL: /sheila$
To URL: http://{siteurl}/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=44


That is the real article i want to link to.

Please advise as to what i did wrong. I tried escaping out the ? as well.

Don't need to escape the destination URL. Escaping is only needed in the source URL, just because ReDJ uses regular expressions.

If not work maybe there's something to adjust. Please, send me the dump of ReDJ table, a screenshot of plugin settings and your real domain URL to make some test. If you prefer, send me a mail (address in "Contattaci" on the left menu).

Maybe I got it.
When I call sheilastewart.com/sheila the error page is server by Apache, so it's impossible for ReDJ to do the redirect.

For this to work you need to add the following line at the end of .htaccess file located in your Joomla root folder:



If this file doesn't exists, please, rename "htaccess.txt" to ".htaccess".

Let me know if now it works.

It worked!

My problem appeared to be the htaccess file was actually still htaccess.txt. I changed this and added the error 404 message and i was good to go.
